In His Word
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." – Psalm 119:105

1 John 3

What information does the chapter contain?

– Sin and righteousness (:1-9).  Jesus “appeared in order to take away sins.”  Our hope in Him leads us to purify ourselves from sin, for we know sin cannot remain in us and we remain in Him.  We want to be righteous, “just as He is righteous.”

– Loving one another (:10-24).  Part of being righteous is loving one another.  Jesus demonstrated true love when He laid down His life for us.  This love should lead us to meet the needs of our brethren.

How can we apply the chapter to our lives?

– Purify yourself.  The hope of being like God should lead you to be pure like Him.

– Love one another.  Your eternal destiny depends on it.

“…let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.”  Anyone can say they love, but a true child of God will demonstrate it.

Have a great day in His word!
