Gen 6-10 – “But Noah found favor”

 1Mon - history

The crafty serpent deceived man to the point “that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.” (Genesis 6:5-6).  The created was serving the crafty one instead of the Creator.  Who can blame God for deciding to destroy His creation (:7).

“But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.” (:8).  In the world of darkness there was a light: “a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God.” (:9).  His righteousness continued to shine in his building of the ark, as “Noah did according to all that God had commanded him.” (:22; 7:5).  He preached righteousness to the people (2 Peter 2:5) but was only able to save his family (7:1).  That man of faith “became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.” (Hebrews 11:7).

Today’s dark world is full of wickedness.  Will you be a righteous light in it, living blameless, walking with God?  If so, then you too will find favor in the eyes of God and receive the inheritance of the faithful.

Have a great day in His word!
