In His Word
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." – Psalm 119:105

“not by bread alone”

1 - Jesus said2

After fasting forty days and nights in the wilderness, Jesus was hungry (Matthew 4:1-2).  “The tempter” knew this and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” (:3).  Jesus responded, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” (:4).

In spite of His – and our – need for physical bread/food, there is a greater need: the spiritual bread of God’s word.  “For you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.” (1 Peter 1:23).

Have a great day in His word!
